Worst of Storm has Passed
VALDOSTA - National Weather Service reports and local radar
images indicate the worst of today's storm has past. Robert DeLong,
VSU's Director of Environmental and Occupational Safety, said
Lowndes County may receive isolated pockets of brief showers but
will not likely experience the 1-4 inches of rain and possible
tornadic activity meteorologists previously predicted.
Valdosta State University urges faculty, staff and students to pay attention to the weather and to use caution when traveling during severe weather. In extreme weather conditions, flooded roads, streets and bridges may mask underlying infrastructure failures. Do not drive through effected or questionable areas. VSU will continue to monitor conditions and remain in constant communication with the National Weather Service. Refer to the VSU home page for updates.
