VSU Kicks Off Relay for Life Season

VALDOSTA - Valdosta State University will kick off its Relay for Life season with a celebration from 7:30 p.m. until midnight on Monday, Oct. 29 in the Bailey Science Center auditorium and on Palms Quad.

The first event for the 2007-2008 campaign will begin with a 7:30 p.m. discussion in the second floor auditorium about the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life and getting involved. Students, who have experienced cancer first-hand, will speak and a slide show presentation will showcase last year’s productive and enjoyable event. Following the presentation, all participants can enjoy an evening of Halloween activities, including a scary movie, a fear-factor-style game, a costume contest and opportunities to win prizes.

Relay for Life will hold its second event, “Ball to Cure” on Friday, Nov. 9, in the Old Gym. Themed “Old Hollywood,” the event will offer a live band, disc jockey, photo opportunities and a red carpet entrance. Purchase tickets for $8 from any RFL committee member or at the Student Life office in the University Union.
