Eleven Cadets Receive Scholarships
VALDOSTA - Eleven Valdosta State University ROTC cadets received
Phase I scholarships from the United States Air Force this semester
as part of the In-College Scholarship Program.
Each will be awarded funding to pay for tuition and fees as well as
$750 per year for books. Nominated by Lt. Col. John West, the
eleven recipients were chosen after competing at a national-level
against other qualified cadets at more than 140 AFROTC detachments
in the Air Force. Evaluation was based on academic performance,
physical fitness and demonstrated leadership potential. Of the
eleven, five freshmen received three-year scholarships and six
sophomores received two-year scholarships.
Recipients include Benjamin Farber, Jamil Martin, Spencer Vass,
Tyler Barkhaus, Lauren Haschle, James Radford, Aaron Cain, Heather
Dennen, Jake Stinchcomb, Andrew Watters and Lauren Fisher.
