VSU Offers the Awakening of a Dream
The Department of Continuing Education at Valdosta State
University will host The Awakening of a Dream on March 31.
The new professional development course is an introduction to book
publishing and will take place from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m.
The interactive workshop will be led by author Verna Foster Harvey
who will guide participants through the book publishing process,
including the understanding of the market for readers, selecting a
publisher, sound business practices, and much more.
Harvey is the author of two books Growing God’s Way,
released in December 2004, and the Blessedness of Waiting on
God, released in December 2006. She is also a local business
owner whose business evolved into an avenue for which to market her
books. Harvey holds a Master’s in Public Administration from VSU
and is currently employed with the university.
There is a $60 registration fee for the class. Those who wish to
participate in the class can register by calling the Department of
Continuing Education at 229-245-6484. After March 23, the
registration fee increases to $70.
