Tag, You're It!

Do you have Valdosta State University Blazer Pride? This month the office of Alumni Relations kicks off a license tag campaign, titled “Tag, You’re It!” The tag campaign aims to reinstate the official state of Georgia VSU commemorative license plate. In order for production, the state of Georgia requires a minimum of 500 tag applications requesting the VSU commemorative license plate.

To apply for the VSU license plate, visit the local tag office or download an application (http://www.valdosta.edu/news/media/2007/01/mv-9c2.pdf). A $25 manufacturing fee must accompany the application. Next year, once the new license plate arrives, a special tag fee of $25 will calculate into the regular ad valorem taxes. Tag applications must reach the state DMV by July 31.

“Our goal is to plaster the highways and byways of Georgia with our VSU Blazer Pride,” said Mary Gooding, director of Alumni, Community & Regional Relations. “Our Alumni are rallying in a grass roots campaign to raise our visibility equal to that of any other Georgia university.”
