Science Seminar continues on September 28

Valdosta State University's Science Seminar Series, which is open to the public, continues on Thursday, September 28 at 4 p.m. in Powell Hall. The subject is "Synthesis and Applications of Porous Materials." The presentation will be made by Dr. Tolulope O. Salami of VSU's Chemistry Department.

Porous materials are materials containing voids, channels, space, pores or tunnels. Synthesis of porous materials has been an important research area in recent years due to their potential applications in ion-exchange, fuel cell, drug delivery, environmental clean-up, etc. The Science Seminar will cover a general description of synthetic methods and applications of some new layered materials. For more information about the series, please contact Dr. Blaine Browne at 249-4914 or visit http://www.valdosta.edu/scisem/index.htm .
