Valdosta State University honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. withcelebration

Valdosta State University's Office of Equal Opportunity Programs and Multicultural Affairs will celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Thursday, January 12, at 7 p.m., in the University Center's Magnolia Room.

Dr. Dennis Kimbro, co-author of "Think and Grow Rich: A Black Choice," will address Dr. King's life and work and the impact that he has had on all Americans. Kimbro's book, co-authored with the late Napoleon Hill, author of the best seller "Think and Grow Rich," distills the secrets of success contained in the lives of peak performing men and women and reveals how readers can utilize these keys to make their dreams come true. The author is expected to motivate his audience with the principles lived out by Dr. King.

Dr. Kimbro is listed in Who's Who in Black America, a recipient of the Dale Carnegie Achievement Award, and is past Director of the Center of Entrepreneurship at Clark Atlanta University. He has appeared on the Larry King Show, the Today Show, Sonya Live, and has been featured in Success Magazine, Black Enterprise, Ebony, Essence, the New York Times, USA Today.

Musical entertainment for the celebration will by provided by VSU's Mass Choir and Valdosta City School's J.L. Newbern Middle School Chorus.
