Final Spring Semester Interdisciplinary Program focuses onAustralian and New Zealand Business

Valdosta State University's fifth and final interdisciplinary international program of the semester will be presented at noon on Wednesday, April 27, in Pound Hall Auditorium located on Rea and Lillian Steele North Campus.

Walter Hobgood, co-owner/founder of Express Personnel Services and PLC Solutions, LLC of Valdosta, will conduct the lecture. He was the managing director of the Monsanto Company for Australia and New Zealand, a company that provides agricultural products and services that improve farm productivity and food quality. Hobgood was also the former chief operating officer of Griffin LLC.

The speaker will provide brief overviews of both countries, while offering practical suggestions for success to expatriate business managers and international traders during the one-hour event. Hobgood will address a senior level International Management class taught by Dr. Fred A. Ware, VSU professor of management.

The Students in Free Enterprise's (SIFE) new food service venture, "Business Bites," will be serving lunch from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M., so attendees will have the opportunity to get lunch before or after the lecture.

The HUB Learning Cooperative faculty consortium, Harley Langdale, Jr. College of Business Administration's Management Department, and Center for International Programs are endorsing the event.

The public is welcome to attend these various class presentations by campus speakers. The programs are in support of the VSU Collaborative Activity Plan, a strategic effort that encourages interdisciplinary scholarly exchanges. Visitor parking passes for presentation attendees are free and available at the VSU Parking and Transportation Office.
