Valdosta State University's Harley Langdale, Jr. College of Business Administration will host the first Langdale College Business Week, October 11 through 15. Business Week is a major event offering the VSU community a number of opportunities to meet successful business people and young entrepreneurs. The public is invited to attend.

The Langdale College Business Week will officially begin with a lecture by Senator h.c. Helmut Aurenz, founder and president of ASB Greenworld, which is one of the world's largest producers of liquid fertilizers for use in home gardening. For over forty years, the company has been providing high quality professional gardening products to professional growers and home gardeners throughout Europe, North America, Asia, and Middle East. The lecture will take place on Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at 10 a.m. in Pound Hall Auditorium located on the Valdosta State University's Steele North Campus.

Major events for the week include the Students In Free Enterprise (S.I.F.E.) team making their award-winning presentation in Pound Hall Auditorium on Wednesday, October 13, at 3:30 p.m.

At 6 p.m. on Wednesday in Pound Hall Auditorium, the Langdale College of Business will be presenting its Young Langdale College Entrepreneurs: Artist Aaron Reed and Poet Rod Liggins. Those attending will have an opportunity to meet the two talented business students who express themselves through different forms of art.

In addition to the events open to the general public throughout the week, members of the Business Alumni Advisory Board will be speaking to the business classes. The Board consists of Langdale College of Business alumni who hold or have held the title of owner, partner, president, or vice-president of various companies. The presentation provides opportunities for the students to meet successful business people and to ask questions and learn about real-life experiences.
