European Union Overview to be presented at VSU Harley Langdale, JR.College of Business Administration

The Department of Management, Harley Langdale, Jr. College of Business Administration invites the University community and the public to hear a presentation on the European Union by Dr. Michael J. Baun, Marguerite Langdale Pizer Chair of International Relations at Valdosta State University, Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m., February 3 in the Pound Hall Auditorium, North Campus. Dr. Baun is the Campus Representative of the European Union Studies Certificate Program under the supervision of the European Council of the University System of Georgia (USG).

Dr. Baun will address an undergraduate senior level International Management class taught by Dr. Fred A. Ware, Jr., Professor of Management. ?The internal structure of the EU is a difficult subject,? says Dr. Ware. ?This unique family of democratic European counties is currently expanding its number of member states and now is a good time for us all to learn more,? he added. ?The EU is significantly impacting global business and will continue to do so at an accelerating rate.?

The Award-winning EU Studies Certificate Program, offering students an opportunity to enhance their international employment credentials, is affiliated with the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech; VSU's Dr. C. Tracy Harrington is Director of the USG's European Council. Dr. Ware and Dr. Braun have taught International Management and Political Science summer courses for the European Council in Europe since 1997, including field trips to the European Parliament, the European Commission, the European Court of Justice and the European Investment Bank.
