Valdosta city manager honored with public service award
The Loyce W. Turner Outstanding Public Official Award for 2003
was presented to Valdosta City Manager Larry H. Hanson, on April
22, at a luncheon held at Valdosta State University.
Hanson, the fifth recipient of the award, was chosen for his record
of dedicated and distinguished public service. Hanson was cited for
contributing to the economic development and to the quality of life
in the City of Valdosta and in South Georgia.
VSU's Master of Public Administration Advisory Committee presents
the award annually. The award, named after Loyce W. Turner, former
Georgia state senator, is given to individuals who serve as role
models for those just beginning or contemplating careers in public
service.
