VSU?s Art Department hosts gallery show
Valdosta State University's Art Department invites the community
to attend the opening reception for the ?Eight: Paint & Clay?
exhibit, Sept. 23, 7?8:30 p.m. in the Art Gallery (located in the
Fine Arts Building). The show runs through Oct. 12.
This exhibition features the work of eight nationally known
artists, including three painters and five artists. The three
painters are John Hartley of Fort Worth, Texas; Suzanne Ally of
Valdosta and Karen Dehart of Troy, Ohio. The five ceramics artists
are Ryan Fitzer of Dallas, Texas; Todd Shanafelt of Mankato, Minn.;
Brad Shanafelt of Athens, Ohio; Rick Nickel of Norfolk, Va.; and
Matt Wilt of Edwardsville, Ill.
?This group of artists features some real heavy hitters in the
world of ceramics and painting, as well as some very exciting young
emerging artists,? said Julie Bowland, art gallery director.
The Art Gallery is open Monday?Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and
Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free. For more information,
