R.A.D. courses scheduled for fall

The Regional Center for Continuing Education and the Public Safety Division at Valdosta State University are offering Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) courses, taught by Cpl. Dennis Nealon, crime prevention officer.

According to Nealon, the R.A.D. program teaches women the cognitive and physical skills that enable them to be more aware of their surroundings, avoid dangerous situations, and reduce their risks of being assaulted. The R.A.D. program gives women the confidence they need to protect themselves.

The 12-hour course is divided into four classes. The first class is Sept.16?19, from 5:30?8:30 p.m., in the Continuing Education Building Auditorium. The second class is scheduled for Oct. 14?17, from 5:30?8:30 p.m., in the Continuing Education Building Auditorium. There is a $15 fee to take either class.

For more information about the course, contact VSU's Crime Prevention Office at 245?6493 or Continuing Education at 245?6484.
