VSU to host dance marathon for Children's Miracle Network

Valdosta State University will host its first dance marathon for the Children's Miracle Network (CMN) on Feb. 24, 2001, in the P.E. Complex. Students will help raise money for Shands Children's Hospital in Gainesville, Fla., by collecting per-hour pledges to stay on their feet for 14 hours.

The dancers will begin at 10 a.m. and stay on their feet continuously until midnight. To keep the dancers on their feet a variety of activities have been planned. A different theme will be introduced each hour to help energize the dancers and encourage participation from the audience. The public is invited to attend and watch the event, make donations and encourage the dancers.

CMN has been holding dance marathons since 1994, and approximately 60 schools currently participate. The hallmark of CMN is that 100 percent of the funds raised go directly to children's hospital throughout North America. For more information, contact Greek Life at 333?5674.
