Research Interests
Professor Salami's research interests are in material science, inorganic chemistry, natural products and chemical education. Our current focus is on porous materials with cationic and anionic hosts that can be used in sensor applications and drug delivery. Another area of interest is in the purification and characterization of bioactive compounds from natural products. Dr. Salami has also worked extensively in chemical education research, specifically in the development of project-based upper level chemistry laboratories and the development of new strategies for improved instruction.
